An initiative by Martin Kafunda Football School
Every talent deserves an opportunity.
Giving talented children a chance to go further
Talent is found in every community, but opportunity is not always available to every child. At Martin Kafunda Football School (MKFS), we believe that a child's football potential should not be limited simply because their family cannot afford the costs of development. The Next Chance Initiative seeks to identify talented, committed young footballers from our communities who face financial barriers and connect them with individuals, families, businesses and organisations willing to support their journey. Our goal is simple: to remove barriers, nurture potential and give promising young players a fairer opportunity to grow through football.
How we make a difference
Football equipment
Help a young player access football boots, training kits, jerseys, shorts, socks and other essential equipment.
Support training fees, tournament participation and other approved football development expenses.
Assist with school supplies, uniforms and other agreed educational essentials that support the child's wider development.
Provide ongoing support to an identified player through an agreed sponsorship arrangement based on their needs and available resources.
Who can benefit?
The initiative is intended for talented and committed children who demonstrate potential in football but face financial barriers that make regular participation or development difficult. Children may be identified through community scouting, schools, local coaches, referrals and other appropriate channels. Each case will be assessed individually, taking into account football potential, commitment, financial circumstances and the support required. Selection will be subject to assessment, available sponsorship and the programme's safeguarding procedures.
Become a sponsor
You do not have to be a large company to make a difference. Individuals, families, businesses and organisations can contribute according to their capacity. You can sponsor a pair of football boots, provide a complete playing kit, assist with school essentials, support training costs or commit to a longer-term player sponsorship. Every contribution should respond to an identified need and help a child access opportunities they might otherwise miss.
Your support can give a talented child the chance to keep playing, learning and growing.

Do you know a young footballer with potential who struggles to participate because of financial difficulties?
You can refer the child to MKFS for consideration. Referrals are not automatic acceptance into the programme. Each child will be assessed fairly, with appropriate involvement and consent from their parent or guardian.

Our commitment
MKFS is committed to treating every child with dignity, protecting their privacy, using sponsorship support responsibly and monitoring the progress of supported players. Support will be matched to assessed needs, available resources and agreed arrangements. We aim to maintain appropriate records of sponsorships and provide sponsors with suitable updates while protecting children's personal information.
Together, we can open doors
A pair of boots can help a child step onto the pitch. A training opportunity can develop their potential. Educational support can make a difference beyond football. With the support of our community, we can help more talented children take their next chance.
